VPN server for OpenVPN

A proven, time-tested protocol on your personal MeduzaVPN server — strong encryption, compatibility with any device and firewall-friendly access over TCP 443.

What is OpenVPN

OpenVPN is a mature, open-source VPN protocol that runs over TLS/SSL. Years of real-world use have earned it a reputation for being reliable and predictable; it's highly configurable and supports almost any platform — Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS and routers.

At MeduzaVPN, OpenVPN runs on your personal VPS in the location you choose: your traffic goes through your own server and your own IP, not a shared address. The protocol can run over TCP 443 and pass through most firewalls, so it stays reliable on difficult networks.

How to set up OpenVPN

  1. 1Create an account and choose a location

Create a MeduzaVPN account and choose a server location from 30+ countries.

  3. 3Connect to the server

Now all your device's traffic goes through your own server — with a dedicated IP, no shared users and no limits.

«Took it on trial after a bad experience with another service. Everything works the way it should: stable connection, decent speed even in the evening, and payment went through without any hassle. I used to be skeptical about services like this, but now I recommend it to friends without hesitation. I'll be staying for the long run.»

«Fair price, no issues with speed, plenty of servers for any task. One minor wish — I'd love more detailed connection and traffic stats in the app. It would also be nice to get push notifications when the connection drops. Doesn't affect the core functionality, overall happy and not planning to switch.»

OpenVPN questions

How is OpenVPN different from WireGuard?

OpenVPN is mature and extremely compatible, easier to pass through firewalls and more resilient on restrictive networks. WireGuard is newer, leaner and faster, but OpenVPN is more dependable on complex networks. MeduzaVPN offers both — you can switch.

Does MeduzaVPN keep logs with OpenVPN?

No. On the server side we keep no logs of your activity, and each protocol runs in an isolated container. OpenVPN runs on your own personal VPS.

Which devices support OpenVPN?

OpenVPN works on Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS and many routers. You only need the OpenVPN Connect app and the configuration file from your account.

How does OpenVPN perform on demanding networks?

Well. OpenVPN can run over TCP 443 — the same port as regular HTTPS — so it's hard to tell apart from web traffic and stays reliable on difficult networks. That makes it a convenient choice on restrictive networks.

Do I need a separate app for OpenVPN?

On Android and iOS you can use our MeduzaVPN app or the official OpenVPN Connect app. On Windows, macOS and Linux, use OpenVPN Connect or another OpenVPN client with the configuration file from your account.
